It is so easy for me to fall behind. A little bit bacause I don't have huge progress to share?.... but, there is progress... slow and steady! So let's see - Friday? I think we had our first nice day in awhile. I finished planting the fence line. SWL worked in the bathrooms - completing insulation behind what will be the Master shower stall. He also worked around the plumber, who was there replacing the drain... which was more difficult than expected due to old fashioned and irregular angles! I believe that was finished... and I'm not certain when he will return to adjust the water lines and set the actual shower drain? We're ready! Also... just remembering - Hunt arrived red eye - so we had to enjoy lunch on the Barrington deck!!

Underdrive/Overdrive
I was off resting my hands yesterday. My underdrive send SWL into overdrive.... I think he did a 12 hour day! I wish I had more photos to show progress, but really it's all in the little things!
This morning Eric helped out installing one of 3 new vents - that are to help keep air circulating as it should thru the attic. You know Holmes thing about AIR FLOW!! It should help keep the house cool come summer weather, as well as handle the moisture that comes with temperature flux.
We've had the plumber visit.... and check out what he needs to do in the upstairs bath. SWL has been working on the floor up there to prepare for tile. He'll also pull up the boards needed to access and install a larger drain for the Master Shower. The goal is to have some tile installation happen next week! Once the bathrooms are prepared - we can move back to the kitchen, get that door out and prepare for drywall there. We got an official call today - cabinets will be delivered between 1 - 5 next Thursday! (Where they'll be stored in the garage for awhile :( )
We finally had a gorgeous spring day. Unfortunately it's not supposed to last. I took advantage,
and got the fence line along the driveway planted. I began some crack patching around the sunroom, so we can add some grade at that foundation. These details are even starting to bore me a bit.... will post again soon? Looking forward to having Hunt in for the weekend. Cal - have a great trip; and a great weekend all!

More of the Same
Details that is. I finished running some wire in the attic, and finally dragged a couple split pieces of plywood up there to work from..... barely better late than never! SWL has committed himself to the first floor Bath - playing plumber. I couldn't find enough to do - so went off to Oakland nursery for some plantings for the driveway fence line. Thought that might be something Nanny would enjoy helping with when we have a break in the rain! I arrived back to Barrington in time to be the plumbers assistant.... eyeballed some measurements, and held some copper while it was welded. Time flew.... and I'm home waiting for the dogs to digest before getting out for their run. I'm going to dodge the raindrops - but at least it's very lush around here!!! Have a good week all -

Slow Sunday
I'm not sure what we accomplished today. We didn't have a good goal set - that's for sure. SWL is trying to focus on getting the bathrooms ready for the tile installer. That includes some framing around the tubs, some plumbing, some drywall patching, floor leveling, insulating, vapor barriering.... on and on! I got started running a couple new wires in the basement. As usual -
I got hung up - and he had to bail me out. End result was 2 new fixtures hung, 1- over Bennett's work bench, and 2- over the washer/dryer, both on the line that will switch on at the top of the basement stairs. We also indulged in a Sunday Katzingers lunch, and then a meeting with Randy- the tile guy. Now, I'm blogging and SWL has gone back to Lowe's to prepare for a more productive Monday. Meanwhile - C + B (mostly B?!) put in day 2 of stripping their new door!

Finally!
All the little steps finally add up to some real progress! We spent most of the morning on the roof of the sunroom - cutting thru the wall to install the vent grill for the first floor bath.
Measuring, cutting, snipping thru vinyl siding - new skills for us!! Installed a couple of temporary light fixtures to the sconce boxes; then flipped the breaker for the big moment. With the flip of a switch...let there be light!!! Let there be fan and light!!!! Check it again!, the fan is SO quiet you barely notice it's running! WE WANT ONE OF THOSE AT OUR HOUSE! We also COMPLETED the vent rotation in the Master Bath - from horizontal to vertical (so that it will run parallel to the right side of the new sink cabinet. Yea! Then we completed installation and insulation of the new duct/vent in the Master Bedroom. I did a quick mow of the front yard. And,
lastly we rigged some water protection over the exposed stoop-less side of the house. We're expecting more rain! Big Saturday!!
